Meshtastic
Meshtastic
Meshtastic is an open source, off-grid, decentralized, mesh network built to run on affordable, low-power devices.
We are still testing the use of Meshtastic for emergency radio communications. If you currently own a Meshtastic device, please send an email with your Long Name, Short Name, Location, and ERC number to ERCnetAtlanta@Gmail.com. Steve is Ros Chat Steve 1, RCS1, Roswell, ERC254. (If you have one or more nodes, use the same naming convention adding the numeral 1, 2, 3, etc.). Here is a link to the list of ERC members with Meshtastic nodes. We would love to add your information to the list.
currently keep my unit on LongFast, 906.875 MHz. We are trying to connect with as many Meshtastic users as possible.
Meshtastic creates ad hoc mesh networks. For it to work we will need many active Meshtastic nodes due to distance limitations. Also, as with GMRS, “height is might.” We are still trying, but without large numbers of nodes it will not enable reliable communications.
